When God said, “Be Holy for I am Holy”, we never bothered to ask, “How Holy is God?”
That’s because God Himself is the definition of holiness. His name is Holy. He breathes Holy. His dwelling place is called the Holy of Holies.
Prince DML captures the essence of God’s Holiness in this beautiful song. It’s in the person of Jesus, the expression of the Love of God. Jesus Christ is the Holiness of God and that’s exactly what this song is about.
The sonorous Olufunmmy Peters takes it further as she asks, “What have we done to deserve God’s mercy?” For Him to want us to be as Holy as He is, inspite of all our shortcomings.
This is indeed a song about Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Acceptance and in fact, the Holiness of God. He is SO HOLY!
